Two habits sit underneath that, both from a childhood spent playing whatever sport was in season. Show up prepared, and never leave the people counting on you guessing where you stand.
He will tell a client when something can wait, when it can be handled without him, and when it is worth spending real money on. The trust that builds is worth more to him than the invoice.
